Fight analysis: Arbitrator vs Taranis x2 and Stabber

System; Nikkishina, The Citadel. Sec status 0.4

During a low sec roams in a T1 cruiser, an Arbitrator again. This time armour tanked (still my favourite tank on the Arbi;).

So I end up in Nikkishina , a 2 gate system and I find myself stuck in the system because I know a fleet of drakes just followed me in and they just left system thu the gate that was on my route as well. Not a great idea to follow them to quickly so I decide to looter in the system.

Then 2 Tarani show up on scan.. At the time I wasn't sure how my arbitrator would perform against them and I kinda expected them to be part of a larger fleet sitting on one of the gate in the adjacent systems.

Unsure of what to do but bored  I warp to one of the gates at 70km. I don't want to be close to the gate like 10-20km and risk other to jump in and catch me and I really just want to have a look and see whats going on. The Tarani seem to be warping from gate to gate.

Pretty soon both arrive and land at 0m from the gate. I just sit there and do nothing. Nothing will happen at the gate for sure as none of us can tank the senrty guns. They stick around to my surprise and I half expect local to spike as their fleet jumps in. But that doesn't happen and 1 of theTaranis pilots offer a challenge: 2 v 1? I think why the hell not. I type PLV in local and warp to planet 5.

I am still suspicious of a trap and keep scanning very few seconds for other ships.. but nothing happens and after a few minutes the Tarani land on grid about 40-50km from me. By that time I have aligned to the sun and launched my light drones.   I lock em both up and one of them starts to approach. I remind myself not to make the mistake to let my drones attack to fast because they will shoreley want to kill them first and take away my main DPS. I want them to come close before I set my drones on them. They need to be scrammed and them I want to neut them to hell :) and then there ships will dei . Simple as that. ;)

This plan works pretty well. After some hesitation they do approach and I get the chance to do as I planned and it workd pretty well. They do fly pretty smart I must say as one comes in after the other like fighters and when one  takes damage from my drone he flies away with my drones chasing and lets his buddy apply damage while I am distracted. Very cool and well done.

It doesn't work out for them though and I manage to scram , neut one of them and I hit approach to keep him close and make sure he dies.   His ship does blow up but then a Stabber warps in and lands right on top of me.

I make a few mistakes from then on. First of all I keep focussing on the 2nd Taranis who is flying away evading my drones. he is in stucture by that time and I hope to down him, I guess but in hind site I really should have focused on the stabber who was a much bigger threat.

Besides that I forget to turn on my medium repper and only get reminded that I need to do that when the alarm sounds that I am in low armour. Ouch.. by that time I realize the Stabber is hurting my ship to much and I need to refocus. So I set my drones on him and try to get some distance between the Stabber an my ship , but by that time my ship is bleeding well into structure. Moments later it explodes.

It was a good fight and I really enjoyed it. Thanx to my opponents, well done guys. Even though you didn't do as you said 2 v 1, hah right.

Yes! Finally!

Yes! Finally some luck after a long series of losses I managed to get a kill. In a Rupture this time. My first in this hull if I remember correctly.

Medium Processor Overclocking Unit I
Medium Processor Overclocking Unit I
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I

Hobgoblin II x5

On paper it rocks.
With the XL-ASB tank and about 500 DPS with my skills. It is pretty fast too:1500m/s with an MWD and about 600m/s with this afterburner fit. I choose the afterburner this time but a MWD will work just as well. The LADAR backup Array is there to have a little help vs ecm drones.  The total fit costs about 40mil in Jita.

I managed to get into a brawls with a blaster Moa, which I won. It was a close fight non the less with me having no armor left and 1 cap booster in my ASB . The Moa had a buffer tank and was a really tough nut to crack and its DPS was considerable. I think my afterburner helped  a little  to avoid some of that damage by orbiting. Still, I was webbed the whole time.. so I am not sure. There are so many variables in this game.

Looking at his fit he made a smart decision, in my view, to have 2 EM rigs on his boat. First thing people do , I guess, is switch to em damage ammo when they see a Caldary ship. This increased his tank towards the EMP ammo I was using.

Anyways, I am happy to have a gf again. Good for my morale.
